Varian Young Investigator Award
It is our pleasure to institute the Varian Young Investigator Award (VYIA), to be awarded biennially at the opening session of the European Magnetic Resonance (EUROMAR) conference. The VYIA is named after a pioneering enterprise in magnetic resonance, and its aim is to recognize a promising scientist within the first 12 years of his/her post-PhD career. In special cases, at the discretion of the VYIA Committee and should exceptional circumstances justify it, the award may be granted to a non-PhD scientist and/or beyond the aforementioned 12-year limit. The VYIA will have a total value of 3,000 Euros, to include the registration and travel costs of attending the conference and the costs associated with a VYIA plaque. The VYIA is generously supported by a group of former Varian employees.
The VYIA is intended to recognize a single investigator, for his/her achievements in any area of magnetic resonance. In order to identify potential awardees the committee is soliciting from the community candidates; nominations should include:
- Name of nominee, with nominee's affiliation, address, phone, and e-mail
- CV of the nominee
- Name of nominator, address, phone, and e-mail
- Brief (no more than 200 words) description of the work serving as the basis for the nomination
- A list of relevant publications (no more than 5).
Please send your nomination material to the Chair of the Euromar Board of Trustees Lucio Frydman (Lucio.Frydman@weizmann.ac.il) or of the 2017 Euromar Conference Wiktor Kozminski (kozmin@chem.uw.edu.pl).
